… and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth (Acts 1:8, ESV)
The creation is important to God and He has given us a part of this land, the neighborhood around our church building, to tend. Our neighborhood ministries have varied over the 25 years we have been at 31 S 13th St. and we’re excited about the rapport established and the relationships developing within our neighborhood.
Recent undertakings include initiating a neighborhood block party and building, filling and distributing flower boxes to adorn our neighbors’ front porches. Both these activities have been joyfully welcomed and participated in by our neighbors.
Annually we join our neighborhood watch group in an outdoor clean-up day that is followed by a luncheon we host. We also delight in having a helping hand with a dinner for our neighborhood elderly, homeless, and needy on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day in cooperation with two other churches in our community. Additionally, we always find time at Christmas to walk the neighborhood singing praises for the birth of our Lord.
